I was born 1952 in Stavropol (Russia). In 1963 I started with chess training in house of pioneers. Two years later I qualified for the russian junior championships by good results in the local junior championships of Stavropol. The russian junior championship was held in the city of Vladimir an I managed to take second place at once. Because of these results I became a member of the russian junior team and got periodical training by the masters A. Lifshitz , V. Golenishchev and the grandmaster I. Bondarevsky.
As a member of the Russian junior team I participated three times in junior team championships and junior championships of the USSR.
In 1968 I got the title of a national master of the USSR. In 1973 I started playing correspondence chess with Russian correspondence chess championship. I took first place at once. Many successes followed like the win of the 13th correspondence chess championship of the USSR and my biggest win, the final of the 13. ICCF World championship.
From 1996 to 1997 I made my diploma as a chess trainer at the Russian academy of sports.
In 1997 I got the title of a FIDE International
master. In 1998 I've emigrated to Germany and played since then in many single
or team tournaments in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
